FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
July 25, 2001
As promised, e2grow Inc. has made another acquisition.
The Cleveland developer of community-based web sites has acquired ChagrinValley.com, a portal serving Chagrin Falls, Ohio.
ChagrinValley.com was launched in late 1999 by Bo Kalinyak. Mr. Kalinyak moved to Boulder, Colo., earlier this year to pursue high-end web development and animation work.
He decided to sell the site to e2grow because "they have a great business plan for what they're trying to do."
e2grow presently operates seven community web sites and last month it acquired Locality.com of Mountain View, Calif. After acquiring Locality.com, Dennis Barba Jr., chief executive of e2grow, said he was looking at making at least two more acquisitions.
Mr. Barba said he is actively negotiating another acquisition, but declined to disclose details.
ChagrinValley.com appealed to e2grow because it attracts several hundred visitors each day and provides web site hosting services to small businesses in Chagrin Falls. E2grow also provides web development and hosting services to small businesses.
"This (acquisition) will help drive meaningful traffic to the Chagrin Falls site when we turn it on," Mr. Barba said.
e2grow operates community web sites in eight Northeast Ohio towns and in mid-September will add a Chagrin Falls site and sites in seven other communities.
The ChagrinValley.com site will be taken down and traffic will be redirected to the e2grow site.
For Contractors: www.buildohio.com offers a directory of building contractors to enable consumers to identify, research, and communicate with building trade and home repair contractors. Contractors are grouped by service, and by geographic area for ease of use.
